Jimmy Thomson is a caricaturist who has been drawing famous faces for almost sixty years! He started working for Dundee publishers DC Thomson as a cartoonist back in the fifties. He has also worked for the Scottish Daily Mail and freelanced for Melody Maker in the seventies.
Melody Maker was the first paper that specialised entirely in pop music and jazz. It was during this time he perfected his style and ended up doing over 700 drawings for them!
His list of famous faces includes Mick Jagger, Joan Rivers, Lois Armstrong, Richard Nixon, Joan Collins, John Lennon, Pee Wee Russell, Prince, The Eurythmics, Elton John, Alice Cooper and many many more….
He is exhibiting some of his work at Freedom Hairdressing from 18 April 2014.
